A single mum has turned amateur photographer to highlight the dangers facing her children of suffering a personal injury from building work near their home.
The woman who lives in Queenshill View, Moortown, near to where a housing association is building 62 retirement flats and says that the street has been turned into a building site and that her three children are being put in danger. She has developed a Powerpoint presentation, which she has sent to the association, which shows wagons parked on the street, piles of rubble in the car park and the site being unlocked at weekends.
She commented: “We were all against the scheme at the start and we backed down because they promised wagons wouldn’t park on the street. But all the rules have been broken, time and time again. Living here is like living in hell at the moment.”
A spokesperson for the building work said: “We have had a few difficulties with the development, and are reliant on tenants telling us when the building contractor and its sub-contractors are not adhering to the rules.”
