A Christian teacher has lost his employment tribunal after leaving his job over claims that Muslim pupils were making anti-Semitic and anti-Christian discriminatry remarks.
Nicholas Kafouris says he was forced out of his job at Bigland Green Primary School in Tower Hamlets because he could not tolerate the racist and anti-semitic remarks from some of the pupils at the school. He claimed that some of the pupils at the school had said they hated Christians and Jews and had praised the 9/11 bombers.
Mr Kafouris told the tribunal that his complaints to the head and assistant head were not acted on, leading to him developing depression and eventually leaving his job. The tribunal, which heard from the head and assistant as well as Mr Kafouris and a number of others on his behalf, took place in February but it has taken until now for the three members to give their decision. Mr Kafouris is deciding whether to appeal against the decision.
