North Yorkshire is targeting speeding drivers this summer.
The North Yorkshire 95 Alive summer drink drive road safety campaign is taking action to reduce the number of people killed and seriously injured on the region’s roads and will urge motorists to stay within the speed limit and to keep their concentration especially in built up areas.
Susan Gallagher, road safety officer for North Yorkshire County Council said: “Operation Siren shows that drivers are still speeding. It is vital drivers consider the safety of children and elderly people who live in our area. Speeding and drink driving are proven to be major factors in road related deaths and injuries.”
